Absolutely beautiful and sweet American Folk Art Primitive Rag Doll ~ Approximately 18" tall, wool head and hands, black glass eyes, stitched nose on stout, wood block upper body, cloth limbs, and cotton clothes and scarf. The burlap sack with twine and fill, reads, "100% wool" SOOOOO Cute!
He is wearing black side button shoes, knit socks (not removable) knickers with patches, an overlay skirt with lace trim,
cotton top with Mother-of-Pearl-ish buttons, a tweed-like/plaid jacket with patched elbows and on the back, and a fabulous scarf.
I do not see a marking; appears to be handmade for someone very special.
This sweet, sweet sheep remains in excellent rag doll-like condition. good condition.
