Absolutely beautiful and sweet African American Folk Art Primitive Rag Doll ~ Hand Painted Face, Curly Hair and Original Clothing. Museum quality.

Approximately 18 inches tall. Appears to be made out of an oversold leather or hyde material. Her face is painted with teardrop eyes and a sweet round mouth. Her hair is a sewn-on wig of tight detailed black curls, row by row, very soft.
Her dress is cream in color with faded red triangles and white, and also a few feather shapes in between. Her apron and scarf, and her undergarments, are also very cream-colored and are removable.
Arms and leg swing.

I do not see a marking; appears to be handmade for someone special.

This sweet, sweet girl has been loved, yet taken care of to remain in such good condition.

This piece comes from my mother's estate, nonsmoking homes.
